You Can Help Someone Recover
We serve over 6,000 adult men and women per year. All have substance abuse problems and 95% require public assistance and/or scholarships from donations to access our services. 45% are homeless, and 65% have mental health disorders, which makes them very vulnerable to relapse and significant health risks.
You may be wondering what you can do to help. We serve homeless clients who can always use gifts of clothing, shoes, and toiletries. Our housekeepers and volunteers can use cleaning supplies and paper towels. The residential units are looking for linens, toilet paper, and bath towels and wash cloths.
If you would rather give money, the link below will let you make a gift with your credit card.
- A $10 donation helps to prepare a week's lunches for 2 clients in our residential program
- A $20 donation buys 5 day passes on DART for our outpatient clients
- $100 provides a client a scholarship for our residential program
- $250 upgrades a computer for a counselor to track clients' progress
- $25,000 buys a new van to transport our clients around town
Any amount will help.
Or click on Kroger Neighbor to Neighbor for information and an application for Kroger's donation program. Kroger generously divides $1,000,000 each year among qualifying non-profit programs in Texas and Lousiana. Each participating organization receives a percentage of the million dollars equal to the percentage of total earned contributions credited to its account. Scanning our Neighbor to Neighbor bar code one time with your Kroger Plus Card links you to the Homeward Bound account, adding us to Kroger's charitable distribution at the end of the year.
