Nurse Manager

CARN -- Chemical Addiction Registered Nurse


Homeward Bound is seeking a person with strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, and an active, unrestricted RN License in the state of Texas. This is a management-level position (CARN/QCC preferred) in the 25-bed detoxification unit or nurse manager for residential treatment center (RTC). The nurse manager will organize and direct the nursing activities of six units, performing duties like:


  • Creating budgets and preparing budget reports
  • Monitoring the use of supplies
  • Participating in the training of nurses and other staff members
  • Coaching nurses who need improvement
  • Interviewing nurse job applicants
  • Creating work schedules


Working with the Medical Director will ensure the provision of quality patient care and efficient operation of medical care. The nurse manager will provide administrative supervision to the nursing staff, have strong nursing skills, and a minimum of two years’ freedom from chemical abuse problems. He or she will be committed to professional growth in order to enhance patient care and job performance and, when appropriate, display teamwork, cooperation, and participation in problem-solving.

RN's & LVN's Needed: Various Shifts


We are seeking both Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) for our inpatient substance abuse/mental health treatment facility. Qualified candidates will perform comprehensive substance abuse and mental health assessments, coordinate with vendors as needed to facilitate the efficient operation of the organization, and function as part of the substance abuse/mental health staff to ensure quality service in compliance with the principles and standards of the Texas Board of Nursing and federal statues/laws applicable to service delivery.


Education and Experience Requirements - Substance Abuse/Mental Health experience is a definite plus. However, recent licensees are also encouraged to apply, as extensive on-the-job training is an advantage of employment. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations - Valid Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Valid Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license.
