PEER SPECIALIST CORE TRAINING
The peer specialist core training, spanning three days, is a fundamental requirement for mental health peer specialists and recovery support peer specialists. Specifically designed for individuals with lived experience of mental health challenges or substance use disorders, it equips them to utilize their personal journeys to assist others in their recovery endeavors.
RECOVERY SUPPORT PEER SPECIALIST: SUPPLEMENTAL TRAINING
A Recovery Support Peer Specialist (RSPS) is someone who has personally overcome substance use challenges. Trained to help others in their recovery, RSPSs honor diverse paths to wellness and offer support without pushing specific methods. They provide guidance in recovery planning, mentorship, and advocacy, collaborating across sectors to empower individuals in their journey to wellness.
MENTAL HEALTH PEER SPECIALIST: SUPPLEMENTAL TRAINING
A mental health peer specialist (MHPS) is a trained individual who has overcome mental health challenges and offers support, mentoring, and advocacy to empower others in their recovery journeys, respecting their self-identification and autonomy without using clinical language.
